Marjorie S. Novak Sakraida
Marjorie S. Novak Sakraida, 93, of Snug Harbor, Amityville, N.Y., passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 16, 2022.
Marjorie grew up in Finleyville.
She was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth Sakraida.
Marjorie is survived by her four children, Joseph, Kathleen, Vincent and Michael; daughter-in-law, Sheila Sakraida; and daughter-in-law in her heart, Diane Barry; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Irene Martin of Eighty Four, and Mary Ann Kieffer of McDonald; three brothers, Edwin and John Novak, of Finleyville, and Kenneth Novak, of Memphis, Tenn.; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are two sisters, Malvina Riccio and Dorothea Shanks; and brother, Charles Novak.
Marjorie was the embodiment of “the greatest generation.” She made everything look easy as a mother, wife, assistant manager of Macy’s, and with competitive sports.
After retirement, for over 25 years, she ran St. Martin’s thrift shop in Amityville, N.Y.
Visitation will be at Massapequa Funeral Home, South Chapel, 4980 Merrick Road, Massapequa Park, NY 11762.
Service also at funeral home. Interment at Calverton National Cemetery, Wading River, N.Y.
