Shirley Anna Stenger
Shirley Anna Stenger, 68, of Valley Grove, W.Va., died Tuesday, January 18, 2022, in Wheeling Hospital.
She was born April 19, 1953, in Washington, a daughter of the late Leroy and Beulah Toland Davis.
Shirley enjoyed camping, flea markets, garage sales and traveling, especially to the beach. Her greatest joy was spending time with her friends and family, especially her granddaughters, and she loved her dog, Pookie.
On May 18, 1974, she married William J. Stenger Jr., who died September 7, 2021.
Surviving are a son, William J. (Jessica) Stenger of Valley Grove, W.Va.; a brother, Clyde Davis of Pleasant Grove; a sister, Elsie Schumacher of Washington; and two granddaughters, Isabella and Madalynn Stenger.
Deceased are her brother, John Henry Davis, who raised her; and seven other siblings, Ferris, Randall, Joe, Clarence, Archie and James Davis, and Sarah Lilley.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 24, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 25, with Pastor Guy Gilbert officiating.
Burial will follow in West Alexander Cemetery.
