John “Bucky” “Uncle Buck” Kendall Jr. of Washington and formerly of Elco passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Washington Hospital.
Born in Elco, on July 21, 1948, a son of the late John and Norma Aldous Kendall Sr..
Bucky was a veteran of the Vietman War having served in the United States Navy. He was retired from the DEP as an inspector. Previously, he had worked for the FBI Forensics and a chemist for the PA State Police Forensic Lab. He was a proud member of the Roscoe American Legion Post #801.
Bucky is survived by his wife Verna Ewing Kendall; daughter, Adena (Waji Anwar) Kendall of Raleigh, NC; step-son, Patrick (Cindy) Gaynard of Greentree, 2 step-grandchildren, Veronica and Patrick Gaynard; 2 brothers, Robert “Bobby” (Corky) Kendall of Coal Center and George (Dana) Kendall of Manor.
A Gathering of family and friends will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Melenyzer Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Inc. 1008 Furlong Avenue, Roscoe with a Memorial Service at 2 p.m. with Pastor Brian Carroll presiding. The Roscoe American Legion Post #801 will hold their service immediately after the Memorial Service in the funeral home. Interment will be private in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil.
