Richard L. Mason
Richard L. Mason, 87, of Vestaburg, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022.
He was born December 24, 1933, in Vestaburg, a son of the late William “Buck” and Mary Ann Rager Mason.
Mr. Mason was employed at U.S. Steel Rolling Mill, Homestead Works, for over 30 years.
He was an antique car enthusiast and Coca Cola collector. He enjoyed gardening and traveling, especially to Myrtle Beach and Disney World.
On July 8, 1964, he married Dolores J. Rhodes Mason, who died March 25, 2021.
Surviving are five children, Dave Mason (Mariann) of Low Hill, Debra Hughes of Vestaburg, Christine Mason of California, Ron Mason (Stacey) of Waynesburg, and Cindy Wishart (Mike) of Summersville, S.C.; four grandchildren, Michael and Justin Hughes, and Rider and Sebastian Wishart; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to his parents and wife; are three brothers, William, Donald and James Mason; three sisters, Lil Vuono, Kay Vuono and Elsie Koban; one step-brother, Thomas Derry.
Friends will be received from 12 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 1, 2022, in the Greenlee’s Fredericktown Funeral Home, Ltd., 42 Bank Street at Crawford Road, Fredericktown.
A graveside service will follow in Westland Cemetery, Brownsville. Military rites will be accorded by Hanson Cole American Legion Post # 391.
