Emma Louise Puskarich, who devoted her life to her family and her profession, passed on Saturday, June 25, 2022.

She was born September 2, 1959, one of eight children (seven daughters and one son) of the late Charles A. and Betty R. Schwindling, both deceased.

A graduate of Charleroi High School in 1977, she married George Gary Puskarich in 1978. Together, they raised two sons, George Gary Puskarich Jr. and Matthew Charles Puskarich, who were both actively involved in many youth and high school sports.

As a result, Emma spent a great deal of her free time traveling to her sons’ sporting events and cheering them on from the bleachers.

For more than 43 years, she was employed at Corning Glass / World Kitchen, working her way up from an entry-level position to a supervisory position. Even after being diagnosed with cancer, she worked for a time, not only to help support her family, but because she truly enjoyed her job and her co-workers.

Emma loved to play cards and Yahtzee, relaxing in Florida, and pampering her dog, Sissy.

Ice cream and chocolate were some of her favorite treats, and every Christmas she would make a poor man’s cake to share with family and friends.

In 2021, she endured what no parent should have to endure, the death of her son, Matthew. She also suffered the loss of three siblings, Cindy Shark, Sherry Sawicky and Tammy Battistone; and two brothers-in-law, Jimmy Puskarich and Keith Puskarich.

She is survived by her husband, George Gary Sr.; son, George Gary, Jr. (Megan); and two grandchildren, Kaden and Madison.

Also cherishing her memory are siblings: Sarah Marshman (Michael), Toni Selvoski, Charles Schwindling, and Betsie Trew (Jack); brothers-in-law, Richard Puskarich (Diane), Kevin Puskarich (Debbie), and Tommy Puskarich; as well as many nieces and nephews.
