Caroline Louise Chadwick
Caroline Louise Chadwick, 80, of Washington, died June 29, 2022 in Premier Washington Health Center.
She was born January 29, 1942 in Washington, the daughter of the late John Leroy “Bus” and Thelma Snyder Shrader.
Caroline worked at restaurants and retail stores over the years and retired from Hills Department Store. She also ran the family beef cattle farm with her husband for over 50 years and was a member of Washington County Cattlemen’s Association. She loved every animal, especially her cats.
Caroline loved spending time with her grandchildren. She babysat them from the early age of 6 weeks old while their parents worked. She loved telling everyone how wonderful her grandkids were.
On June 7, 1959, Caroline married Herschell Vernon Chadwick, who died September 22, 2012.
Surviving is her daughter, Jodie Hoover (Michael), of Washington; sisters, Darla, Laura and Thelma; grandchildren, Chad and Allee Hoover; and special friend and brother-in-law, Paul Chadwick, whom she talked to on the phone every morning and they checked in on each other.
Preceding Caroline in death was her brother, Norman “Sam”; and sisters, Janet, Sandy and Katherine “Babe”.
Caroline attended East Buffalo Presbyterian Church.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2022, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, the place of service at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 6th.
Interment to follow in Prosperity Cemetery.
