Marie Catherine Dalfol
Marie Catherine Dalfol, 91, of Harmon Creek, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday evening, June 29, 2022 in the Weirton Medical Center due to complications from a kidney stone.
She was born on August 18, 1930 in Cedar Grove, a daughter of the late Rudolph and Stella Valosio Baronick.
A 1948 graduate of Union High School in Burgettstown, she worked for the Farm Restaurant in Hanover Township, in the office of Petrucci’s in Burgettstown and as a bookkeeper with her husband’s businesses: B. Dalfol & Son, and M.K.D. Inc.
Mrs. Dalfol was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Burgettstown, where she was a member of the Christian Mothers.
She enjoyed bowling, playing Bingo and cards, trips to the casino and most of all, being with her family and grandchildren.
Her loving husband of 72 years, Harold F. Dalfol, whom she met in high school and married on February 18, 1950, survives.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are her three children: Robert A. Dalfol Sr. and partner Patricia Aliff of Weirton, W.Va., Sheree Sciaretta and husband James of Harmon Creek, and Saundra Bondo and husband Ron of Cranberry Township; daughter-in-law, Catherine Dalfol of Harmon Creek; her nine beloved grandchildren: Robert A. Dalfol Jr. and wife Jerrica, Jeffrey Dalfol and wife Billie Jo, Julie Thompson and husband Michael, Derek Ivanac and wife Katelyn, Carter Bondo, Cole Bondo, Ross Bondo, Valerie Sciaretta and Natalie Sciaretta; 11 great-grandchildren: Breanna, Tyler, Zachary and Hannah Dalfol, Nathan Thompson, Jonathan (Jack) Workman, Aaliyah Goyla, Silas and Rowan Ivanac, Victoria Sciaretta and Xzavier Sciaretta. Marie was also eagerly anticipating the birth of her 12th great-grandchild: granddaughter, Rory Ivanac, around what would have been her 92nd birthday.
Marie was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law: June and Tom Murray.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 3, and from 12 to 4 p.m. on Monday, July 4, in the Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021, where departing prayers will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by the Rev. Zach Galiyas at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church of St. Isidore the Farmer Parish, Burgettstown. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
