Raymond Furda
Raymond Furda, 100, of Eighty Four, died Monday, July 4, 2022, in his home.
He was born January 14, 1922, in Eighty Four, a son of the late Michael and Anna Ondovick Furda.
Ray was retired as a bus driver for Ringgold School District. He was a lifelong resident and dairy farmer in Eighty Four, was a member of the American Legion Post 175 in Washington, Scenery Hill Lions Club and Washington Cattleman’s Association. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed football and baseball.
Ray was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Finleyville and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Surviving are his daughter, Patti (Dave) Spinnenweber of Eighty Four; two stepdaughters, Carole Williams and Sherri Massaro, both of Ohio; two stepgrandsons, Tony and Andrik; and three stepgranddaughters, Rachel, Dea and Kayla, three stepgreat-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are his wife, Gertrude Furda; four brothers, Peter, Michael, George and John Furda; and three sisters, Ann Weiss, Elizabeth Shue and Mary Bush.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 7, in Kegel Funeral Home, Inc., David P. Kegel, supervisor, 3560 Washington Avenue, Finleyville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, July 8, in St. Francis of Assisi Church (St. John XXIII Parish), 3609 Washington Avenue, Finleyville. Interment, with full military honors, will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Donora.
