Marlene Sue Hetz, 86, of Headlee Heights, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 5, 2022, in her home.

Born December 30, 1935, in Davistown, she was a daughter of the late Earnest and Grace Vance Downey.

A 1953 graduate of Mapletown High School, she also attended nurse’s training to become a registered nurse, as well as beautician school. Marlene was a licensed beautician for many years, operating her own shops in Glassworks and Headlee Heights, in addition to serving customers in their homes. She was a member of the Mapletown United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her daughters, Debbie Salosky of Dilliner, Donna Brewer of Morgantown and Diana DeBolt and husband Jay of Greensboro; three grandsons, Frank Danko III and wife Melina, Brian Danko, and Jeffrey “Jay” Salosky and wife Beth; and six great-grandchildren, Mason, Mia, Avery, Zander, Ryan and Tyler.

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Jessica Hetz in 2009; and a son-in-law, Floyd Salosky in 2015.

Friends will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 8, and from 10 until the 11 a.m. hour of service Saturday, July 9, in the Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, Point Marion, with Pastor Paul Salosky officiating. Interment follows in Monongahela Hill Cemetery, Greensboro.
