Clarence E. Dudley
Clarence E. Dudley, 81, of Canonsburg passed away peacefully Saturday, July 9, 2022 in Transitions Health Care Washington, with his family by his side.
He was born March 14, 1941 in Canonsburg, a son of the late James W. and Anne Hairston Dudley. Clarence was a graduate of Canonsburg High School and prior to his retirement, had been employed as a police officer with the Canonsburg Police Department for 40 years, last serving as sergeant.
He was well known in the area for his delicious barbeque and owner of D-Bone Catering.
Clarence was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, on Greenside Avenue in Canonsburg, where he had served as a deacon and was known as “Chef” for the cooking he catered at the church.
He proudly served with the United States Army and was a member of the VFW Post 191 of Canonsburg and the American Legion Post 902 in Houston.
In addition to cooking, he loved fishing and gardening.
Left behind to cherish his memory is his dear wife, Sandra Williams Dudley, after over 35 years of marriage; his son, Clarence Dudley Jr. and his wife Judy of Nineveh Indiana; his step-children, Kimberly (Byron) Kelley of Washington, Boyres Williams of Canonsburg and Jayia Williams of Texas; his great-aunt, Geraldine “Dean” Jones of Canonsburg; a nephew, that he raised as his son, Nathanial (Rosie) Williams of Texas; 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Clarence was the last of his immediate family. Deceased in addition to his parents, are his beloved children, Jonathan Dudley and Hazel Dudley; his grandson, Clarence Mathew Dudley; two step-daughters, Lora Denise Standard and Andria Williams; two brothers, James and Gerald Dudley; and his sister, Gloria Dudley Butler; and his former wife, Georgetta Dudley.
Friends and family are welcome from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., Joseph P. Salandra LFD, owner / supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120.
Funeral Services will take place at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, in Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Greenside Avenue. Please meet in Church.
Fraternal Order of Police services will take at 1 p.m. in the funeral home.
