Gary Alan Wagoner

Gary Alan Wagoner passed away unexpectedly Sunday, July 10, 2022, in his home in Washington. He was 79 years old.

Gary was born August 18, 1942, in New Brighton, to parents Irene and Lloyd R. Wagoner.

He was an organized and fearless man who experienced life to the fullest. Gary graduated from Akron University with a BA and also received an MBA from the University of Maryland.

He served a long and distinguished career as an Active Duty and Reserve pilot with the United States Air Force flying the B-52 and C-141 airframes, retiring with the rank of Colonel. In later years Gary flew for Tower Air as a 747 Captain and worked with the FAA out of Philadelphia.

Gary enjoyed many activities including ping pong, shooting pool, riding his motorcycles, auto mechanics, classic movies and traveling. He had a great appreciation for music, from big bands to classic rock. He loved spending time with friends and family and he brought an unforgettable energy, dry sense of humor, and a gentle nature to any gathering.

Gary was a loving father of four children, Alynn DiNello (Ryan), Eric Wagoner, Kacey Morgan (Will), and Tyler Wagoner (Lauren). He was a loving grandfather to two grandchildren, Kaitlyn DiNello and Lily Morgan. Gary is also survived by his sister, Lynn Patterson; one niece, Kelly Badnell (David); one great-niece, Natalie Badnell; and one great-nephew, Andrew Badnell.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the 12 p.m. hour of funeral service Tuesday, July 19, in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor / director, Holly Renay Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director, Park N. Crosier, director. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, where full military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post #175 and the United States Air Force.
