Joy Bernice Mahan
Joy Bernice Mahan, 90, of West Finley, went to be with her Lord July 10, 2022. She was born November 26, 1931, in East Finley Township, to the late Joseph B. and Jeanetta Gail Sprowls Clutter.
She was the longest-serving member of the Windy Gap Presbyterian Church and was a 1949 graduate of Claysville High School.
On June 24, 1953, she married Roy Eugene Mahan and enjoyed 53 years of marriage with him until his passing in 2006.
She was a wonderful baker, a crowd favorite being her pecan pie, enjoyed gardening, and loved visits and phone calls from her grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
Although Mrs. Mahan was a lifelong resident of Washington County, she could always be seen wearing a T-shirt from her family’s travels and proudly displayed keepsakes from their adventures across the globe.
She is survived by her children, Sue Truelove and husband Mark of Scott Depot, W.Va., Bernice Clark and husband Tom of Wheeling, W.Va., Jay Mahan and wife Lois of West Finley, and Daniel Mahan of Washington; grandchildren, Shelby, Megan, Lance, Jessi, Dani, Avery and Jade; and great-granddaughter, Hazel.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, Roy, are her daughter, Jill Rebecca Mahan; her siblings, Benjamin Clutter, Floyd Clutter and Karaleene Danley; and her step-granddaughter Grace Sauerzopf.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, in Windy Gap Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 132 Burnsville Ridge Road, West Finley, PA 15377, with interment to follow at West Finley Cemetery.
