Susan Jean Yater, 70, of Canonsburg, died Wednesday, June 13, 2022, in Washington Hospital.

She was born January 9, 1952, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late William Blakely and Mildred Drewes Cargo.

Susan was a graduate of Peter’s Township High School.

She had worked for five years at Walmart.

Ms. Yater enjoyed sewing, painting, playing the online game Candy Crush, being on Facebook, and sitting on her porch with her iPad in hand.

Surviving are two daughters, Mitzie (Earritt) Bennett of Washington, and Ashley Yater of Washington; a stepson, Charles (Amy) Yater, Jr. of Canonsburg; a stepdaughter, Sheila (Keith) Watson of Wadestown, W.Va.; a brother, William (Renna) Cargo of Concord, N.C.; a sister, Marsha (Rick) Cattaneo of Canonsburg; seven grandchildren, Mayli, Layni, Maison, Adara, Noah, Camren and Cooper; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and her best friend, Lisa Workman Hennick.

Deceased is a sister, Debra Charlier.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation or services.
