Katherine Jean Esno

Katherine Jean Esno, 80, passed away Friday July 15, 2022. Kathy was born in Bulger June 1, 1942, to Michael Edward Collins and Nora Bianchini Collins.

She graduated from Union High School in Burgettstown.

Kathy married Andy Esno from Slovan. They had a son, Andrew Michael Esno, in 1961.

Kathy worked for General Cryogenics Corp. in Washington for 37 years. She loved the people she worked with and considered them her extended family. Kathy retired in 2006.

After retiring, she traveled to Colorado, Iowa, Kentucky and North Carolina to visit family.

She enjoyed taking care of her home and spending time on the family farm. She loved horses, dogs, cats and taking care of any animals in need of help. She loved cars, music and was able to see a few of her favorite stars – Bob Seger, Rod Stewart and others – in concert. She took up martial arts as a hobby. She loved the outdoors. Her favorite season was spring although she enjoyed the first snowfall of each year.

Kathy was known for her feisty yet caring nature and will be missed by those who knew and loved her.

Katherine is survived by her son, Andrew and his fiancee, Annette Marienau of Wilson, N.C.; brother, Joe Collins; sisters, Amelia Butler and husband Dave, and Janet Schmac and husband Bob; sisters-in-law, Beverly Handick and husband Bob, Marlene Hart and Patty Esno; many nieces and nephews, of whom she was proud and loved; and her life-long friends, Jerry Roach, Ron Roach and Marsha Satori.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Esno; parents, Michael Edward and Nora Collins; brother, Edward Collins and his wife, Shirley; and sisters-in-law, Jenny Collins and Audrey Hoberick; and brothers-in-law, Frederick and Albert Esno.
