Longtime Claysville resident, Patricia A. Seaman passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, June 8, 2022.

Patricia was born on Easter Sunday, April 5, 1942, in Washington Hospital. She grew up in Claysville as the only child to Maude and Wm Arthur Messenger.

As an active, “rather tomboy”, young child, she often took refuge in the neighbor’s floral landscaped yards. This love of gardens and flowers extended into her adult life, when in bloom, her home was often filled with fresh cut roses and other flowers.

On September 30, 1961, Patricia married her beloved classmate, Dennis Seaman following their Claysville High School graduation in 1960. She earned an associate’s degree from Penn Commercial and did office work for local department stores. Together Pat and Denny began their family with stops in California, Delaware, and Edinburgh, Scotland while he served his duty for the United States Air Force.

The firstborn, Robin now resides in Maryland with her husband, Andrew Winternitz; Dennis “Michael” although born in Scotland also lives in Maryland with his wife, Leticia and his children; and the final of their three children, Patrick, has settled with his wife, Penny and their children in Ohio.

Upon retirement from the business world, Patricia was a devoted mom and homemaker before employment at D&W Bus Company.

Patricia, despite her myriad of lifelong serious illnesses from debilitating arthritis to cardiac issues, was a survivor and loved life.

She enjoyed traveling to places with all the amenities, near a beach, amusement parks with grandkids, and most often the rustic tranquil campsite in the mountains of West Virginia.

She loved the outdoors and would sit for hours watching the birds in her backyard. Although she did not begin her marriage as a kitchen novice; she quickly learned how to cook, bake, and can / process just about anything. She was a picky eater, but would prepare her dislikes for others. Patricia was vocal, opinionated yet, kind, loving and very giving. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, including her eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at Young Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 219 Main Street, Claysville, PA 15323. 724-663-7373 www.youngfhinc.com.
