Victor George Michael Stickovich Sr.

Victor George Michael Stickovich Sr., 90, of Fredericktown, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 12, 2022, in the home of his caregiver, daughter Annette Ross. Born August 14, 1931, in Newtown, he was a son of the late John Stickovich and Anna Bailey Stickovich-McClellan.

He was a 1949 graduate of East Beth High School, where he met and then married his high school sweetheart, Clara Dee Giles Stickovich, who passed away August 22, 2020. Together they celebrated 69 years of marriage.

After high school, Victor was employed as a coal miner with Republic Steel. He went on to be employed at Dravo Corporation from where he retired after 27 years of service retiring as the general foreman, and Washington Tool, where he worked several years after his retirement.

He was a lifetime member of the former St. Michaels Roman Catholic Church, Fredericktown, a proud member of the East Bethlehem Township Volunteer Fire Department, having joined as a junior firefighter at the age of 17, until his retirement. He was also a scuba diver for the River Rescue Squad.

His passion for the great outdoors lead him to hunt and fish from the lakes of Canada to Smoke Hole, W.Va. He belonged to the Sun Valley Hunting Club located in Tionesta and also the Renova Hunting Club. During his retirement, he and his wife enjoyed many years at their campground on the Yough River.

Surviving are his children, Victor Stickovich Jr. (Donna), Debra Hutchinson (Levi) and Annette Ross (Kenneth); six grandchildren, Jerrod, Jeannine (Jeremy), Janel (Scott), Danielle (Tim), Haley (Tyler), and Lyndsey (Matthew); six great-grandchildren, Alexa, Jackson, Jameson, Jocelyn, Aloura, Emily and Ella; brothers, Leonard Stickovich, Darwin McClellan (Marge) and sister-in-law, Helen Stickovich; sister and brother-in-law, Alverda and James Starkey; sisters-in-law, Delores Giles and Cynthia Giles.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth McClellan; a brother, John Stickovich; sister-in-law, Regina Stickovich; and stepsisters, Nancy Guber and Darlene McClellan.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the 1 p.m. time of a prayer service Thursday, June 16, in the Greenlee’s Fredericktown Funeral Home, Ltd., 42 Bank Street at Crawford Road, Fredericktown, with Deacon Bert Kuhns officiating. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to East Beth Township Volunteer Fire Dept., P.O. Box 445 Fredericktown, PA 15333.
