Paul Raymond Pivac

Paul Raymond Pivac, 69, of Cecil Township, died Wednesday, June 15, 2022, in Allegheny General Hospital.

He was born January 10, 1953 in Canonsburg, son of the late Paul E. and Anna Mae Roman Pivac.

He was a Life Member of Cecil #3 Volunteer Fire Company, where he held many offices including: President and Fire Chief, and a member of Washington County Firemen’s Association. He was a former Emergency Management Coordinator for Cecil Township.

Paul loved the fire department and enjoyed the friendly water battle competitions. He used the water battles to fund a Scholarship to help high schoolers going on to public service. He was selected as the Pennsylvania American Legion Fireman of the Year in 2016. Paul was an Eagle Scout and former scout leader. He was a member of Sons of the Cecil American Legion. He enjoyed camping and coaching the children’s soccer games.

He worked as a truck driver and retired as the dispatcher for Silhol Builders Supply, Bridgeville.

Surviving are his wife, Laurie Dufresne Pivac of Cecil Township, sons: Joshua (Kim) Pivac of Suffolk, Va., Derek (Jenah) Pivac of Cecil and Brady Pivac and (companion Tyler Overbaugh) of Denver, Colo; grandchildren, Kinley, Belle, Felix Pivac; and a sister, Bernadette Harris of Huntsville, Ala.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 18, and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 19, at Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road, Cecil, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 20, with Pastor David Perry officiating.

A fireman’s Funeral service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald.
