Dora “Jean” Milliken Long, 90, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at Country Meadows Assisted Living in Bridgeville, where she received great care from the staff and Bridges Hospice.

Jean was born October 4, 1931, in West Finley Township, a daughter of the late William Glen and Pearl Jane Plants Milliken.

On August 2, 1954, she married Edwin D. “Johnny” Long, of Claysville. They were married for 40 years before his passing on April 21, 1994.

Jean graduated from West Alexander High School in 1950. She was employed as the secretary at West Alexander High School and McCartney Insurance Agency in Claysville. She retired as a registration clerk from Washington Hospital after 18 years.

Jean leaves behind children: Patricia (Michael) Zink, of Valley Grove, W.Va.; Richard D. (Pam) Long, of Claysville; and Sandra (William) Schuetz, of Triadelphia, W.Va.; grandchildren Sabrina (Michael) Parker, of Shadyside, Ohio; Nicole Seifert, of Triadelphia, W.Va.; Brian (Heather) Zink, of Wheeling, W.Va.; Matthew (M.J.) Zink, of Morgantown, W.Va.; Derrick (Stacey) Long, of Macedonia, Ohio; and Darcell (Jeff Siler) Long, of Claysville; great-grandchildren Maddison and Abbigail Parker; Hunter and Gage Zink; Luke and Cora Zink; Zoey and Aiden Long; and Ryker Scott.

In addition to her husband and parents, Jean is preceded in death by siblings: William Milliken, James Milliken, Richard Milliken, Thomas Milliken, Helen Main, and Dorothy Jacks.

Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2022, at the West Alexander United Methodist Church, 58 North Liberty Road, West Alexander, PA 15376.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022, at the church, with Pastor Jacob Judy officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery, Dallas, W.Va.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to West Alexander United Methodist Church, 58 North Liberty Road, West Alexander, PA 15376.
