Catherine V. Cessna

Catherine V. “Cass” Cessna, 94, of Briar Valley Road, Bedford, Township, went to be with her Lord Saturday, March 5, 2022, in Nancy’s Personal Care Home, Osterburg.

Mrs. Cessna was born in Bedford Township February 26, 1928, a daughter of the late William E. and Carrie Imler Blackburn.

On June 8, 1952, Catherine married Norman A. Cessna. He preceded her in death December 2, 2002.

She is survived by son, Raymond W. Cessna of Eighty Four; son, Richard D., husband of Lisa Caldwell Cessna of Scenery Hill; grandchildren, Nicholas R., Carrie E., Emma L., Grace Catherine; great-grandson, Davin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman; and brothers, Robert “Turk” Blackburn, and Richard Blackburn.

Mrs. Cessna was a graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in 1950. She was a very talented oil painter and taught oil painting for 20 years.

Catherine was a member and former deacon and elder of Bedford Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of Chartiers Hill United Presbyterian Church, Washington County.

She was a lifelong lover of nature and enjoyed all things outdoors.

Catherine was a kind-hearted and generous lady who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Friends and family may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2022, in Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford, with a Funeral Service at 11 a.m., with Pastor Jack Miller officiating.

Interment at Woods Church Cemetery.
