LaVon Joanne Six
LaVon Joanne Six, 84 of Vestaburg, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2022, in her home with her family by her side.
She was born June 18, 1937, in Vestaburg, a daughter of the late Louis and LaVon McGrady Hayges.
Mrs. Six was a 1955 graduate of Centerville High School.
She was employed in the bakery at the Dry Tavern Giant Eagle for over 20 years, and also as a cook at the Riverside Hotel in Fredericktown for over 20 years.
Joanne enjoyed playing cards, Word Search and Bingo, and especially enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren. She dearly loved her family.
Surviving are two daughters, Kathy Hogue of Vestaburg, and Valerie Gillis (Lee) of Beallsville; three grandchildren, Craig Mayton (Amy), Justin Mayton (Brianna) and Logan Walsh (Jake); three great-grandchildren, Carter, Hengy and Austin; three sisters, Martha Paci, (Rudy Sr.) of Vestaburg, Linda Koontz (David) of Littlestown, and Mary Lou Bruce (Wayne “Bird”) of Millsboro; several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are her husband, Edward E. Six; seven siblings, Benny Hayges, Harold Hayges, Pearl Kelly, Elizabeth “Libby” Bercosky, Helen Vuono, Peter J. “Buck” Hayges Sr., and Margaret Rebert.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, in the Greenlee’s Fredericktown Funeral Home, Ltd., 42 Bank Street, at Crawford Road, Fredericktown, where Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2022. Interment will follow in Taylor Cemetery.
