Margaret L. Iams
Margaret L. Iams, 95, of Washington, died Monday, March 14, 2022, in Riverside Care Center, McKeesport.
She was born July 24, 1926, in Greene County, a daughter of the late Francis and Ellen Glover Cumberledge.
Margaret was a devoted member at Calvary Baptist Church.
During her working years, Margaret worked as a nursing assistant with three separate nursing homes in the Washington area, in addition to raising her family.
On November 7, 1953, in Claysville, she married the love of her life, William Iams, who died August 5, 1985.
Surviving are a son, Myron Iams of Prosperity; two daughters, Donna (Larry) Hannahan of Washington, and Judith (David) Critchfield of Monongahela; a sister, Nellie Mae Glendenning of Washington; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are two brothers, Bill and Francis; and three sisters, Mary, Velma Irene and Betty.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 7 p.m., the time of service, Thursday, March 17, in the Hummell and Jones Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, Douglas M. Jones, supervisor, Dr. Lawrence K. Donovan, director, with the Reverend Fred W. McCloskey officiating. Interment will be private in Braddock Cemetery, Graysville.
The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Calvary Baptist Church, 1701 Ridgewood Drive, Washington, PA 15301.
