Nancy A. Bellis, 81, of Bobtown, died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 15, 2022, in her home. Born in Jere, W.Va., March 6, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth “Bud” and Orpha Ella Weber Deavers.
Graduating in 1959 from University High School, Nancy retired after 28 years as a driver with Radcliff Bus Lines for the Southeastern Greene School District.
A wonderful baker and cook, everyone enjoyed her food regardless of what she was making. She was a diehard Steeler fan, whether they were winning or losing.
Surviving are her husband of 62 years, James R. Bellis, whom she married December 14, 1959; and three daughters, Kimberly Bellis Riggleman of Point Marion, Debbie (Kip) Watson of Enola, and Janet (Frank) Smith of Dilliner. She was a loving “MawMaw” to her five grandchildren, Taelene Riggleman Swihart, Bobbie Ann Roupe, James Roupe, Robert Roupe, and Corey Smith. She is also survived by one great-granddaughter, and one great-great-grandson; a sister, Janet Dalton; and three brothers, Lance, Tom and Bill Deavers, all of Morgantown.
Also deceased are three brothers, Kenny, Dennis and Terry Deavers.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 19, in the Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, Point Marion, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 20. Interment follows in Monongahela Hill Cemetery, Greensboro.
