Irene Elizabeth Kress, 87, of Midlothian Va., was called home by her heavenly Father, to accept her eternal reward, on Tuesday, November 16, 2021.

Born April 15, 1934, in Bunola, to Lewis and Mary Ophar Thayer, she was one of 10 children.

Irene was wed to Lee Irwin Kress, Sr., on January, 29th 1955, and they remained married for 53 years.

She was a firm believer in Christ and an avid member of the church, and she played piano for her home church. Her greatest passions were singing, crocheting, craft design, and her family. She ended her working career as a general assistant for Carmichaels Elementary School.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Mary; siblings, Louis, David, Norman, Harold, Leone, Carl, Charles, Mary, and William; husband, Lee Sr.; daughters, Anna Kress and Colleen Butler; grandchildren, P.J. Anderson and Steven Anderson; and great-grandchildren, Gavin Kress and Ryker Conrad.

She is survived by her children, Mary (Liam), Sandra, Lee Jr. (Jan), Irene; grandchildren, Renee (Brian), Ben (Noel), Charles (Alex), and Christopher (Rachel); great-grandchildren, Trystan, Ruby, Trypp, Ronan, Rydge, and Wilhelm; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at a later date to honor Irene in Pennsylvania.
