Linda Lou French Sroka, 83, of Washington, died Sunday, May 15, 2022 in her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born April 12, 1939 in Washington, a daughter of the late Robert A. and Geneva, Burns French.

Linda was a 1957 graduate of Washington High School, and went on to earn her associates in secretarial science from Waynesburg University.

Mrs. Sroka worked as a secretary for 28 years throughout Trinity Area School District, until her retirement in 2002.

Linda was proud to say that she was a cheerleader and earned spots on the homecoming courts of both her alma maters.

She was an active member of Immaculate Conception Parish, where she volunteered many hours of her time. She enjoyed socializing with her “Patton Pearls”, a group of ladies who attended Patton Elementary School. Her greatest passion was spending time with her two grandchildren.

On November 23, 1963, in Washington, she married the love of her life, Paul E. Sroka, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Paul R. (Dawn Smith) Sroka, of McMurray, and Robert E. Sroka, of Washington; two grandchildren, Sophia and Adam Sroka; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are three sisters, her twin, Judith Sprowls, Shirley Jacobs, and Margaret McIlroy.

The family would like to thank their neighbors and dear friends, Randy and Cindy, for all of their help and devoted care for Linda in the past several months.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, in the Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday. Entombment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
