Jacqueline C. Peters

Jacqueline C. Peters, 80, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, November 1, 2022, in Townview Health and Rehabilitation Center, Canonsburg.

She was born December 26, 1941, in Uniontown, a daughter of the late Samuel and Rose Cavalcante DeFino.

Jackie was a graduate of German Township High School.

She had worked for 24 years as an operator for the former Washington Answering Service and then Pittsburgh Telephone Answering Service, retiring in 2012.

Mrs. Peters was a member of the former St. Genevieve Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers.

She enjoyed watching the Game Show Network, her soaps and she made hangers and scrubbies.

On February 23, 1963, she married Vilus Peters who passes away June 11, 1999.

Surviving are a daughter, Renate Smith (Bill) of Carmichaels; a son, Alfons Peters of Canonsburg; four grandchildren, Linda Welling (Robert), Nicole Jones (Nick), Kenneth Ayres III (Deanna) and Victoria McCartney (Joey); eight great- grandchildren; a sister, Rosemarie Schick of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; a brother, Dennis Ballas of Masontown; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A sister, Cynthia Richnafsky is deceased.

A memorial to celebrate Jackie’s life will be held at a date and time to be determined.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342.
