Lisa Appelbaum Parker
Lisa Appelbaum Parker, 71, of Carmichaels, died Monday, October 31, 2022, in her home.
She was born September 22, 1951, in Washington, D.C., to the late Theodore and Hope Hathaway Appelbaum.
Lisa is survived by her two children, Katherine (Michael) Albano of Auburn, Ga., and Daniel P. (Marita) Parker of Greensboro; two beloved grandchildren, Daniel and Henry Parker; five sisters, Toby Karl of Atlanta, Ga., Deena Hathaway of Houston, Texas, Janne Appelbaum of New York, N.Y., Eve Appelbaum of Atlanta, and Laura Schlesinger of Carmichaels; aunts, Emily Mitchell of Peru, N.Y., and the Rev. Dr. Miriam Hathaway of Oneonta, N.Y.; dear nieces and nephews; and wonderful friends, neighbors and caregivers.
In addition to her parents, Lisa was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Parker.
Lisa will be remembered for her gentle nature, sharp wit, hopeful outlook, and reassuring sense of humor. She was a gifted listener, which made her the family therapist and life’s best guide. A wonderful storyteller, Lisa would captivate party guests with accounts of her service as a dental assistant at the Walter Reed National Military Center during the Vietnam War. Her mastery of the creative arts inspired countless portraits, paintings, cakes, jewelry pieces, and more. Lisa had a lifelong love of animals and enjoyed the companionship of her chickens, cats, and late Doberman, Helen. Above all, Lisa lived for the love of her children and grandchildren.
