David John Ferris

David John Ferris, 67, of Latrobe, formerly of Deemston, died suddenly Monday, November 7, 2022, in Latrobe Hospital.
He was born July 24, 1955, in Waynesburg, to the late J. Edward and Laura Marie Tate Ferris.
David was a devout Methodist and his home church was Mt. Zion Methodist Church in Deemston.
He was a graduate of Bethlehem-Center High School Class of 1973 and attended the Community College of Westmoreland County.
David was employed for many years by Latrobe Hospital until he became disabled.
He was an avid reader, played golf in his younger years and enjoyed gospel music. He was a caddie for many years at Nemacolin Country Club.
He is survived by a sister, Linda Diane Grimm (Don) of Washington; brothers, Alan Dale Ferris (Donna) of Faber, Va., Darryl Scott Ferris (Donna) of Mertztown, and William Joseph Ferris (Melissa) of Lemont Furnace. He is also survived by an aunt, Bonnie Kovanitz of Cleveland; and several nieces, nephews, great- nieces and great- nephews, and cousins.
In accordance with his wishes, David was an organ donor through CORE, giving the gift of sight to others.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, November 14, in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Ltd., 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 15, with Pastor Sandra Conti of Mt. Zion Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery.
