Ermando “Norman” Petrarca, 73, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully Friday November 11, 2022, in Jefferson Hospital with his family by his side.

He was born August 22, 1949, in Pietransieri, Italy a son of the late Dominico and Eugena M. Monitelli Petrarca.

Norman came to the United States in March of 1958 and proudly served with the Military Police in the United States Airforce. He was a resident of Canonsburg since 1966 and a member of St. Oscar Romero Parish, St. Patrick Church.

Ermando was employed as a psychiatric aide at Mayview State Hospital until his retirement in 2002. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing at Eighty-Four Lakes, landscaping and visiting the Casino.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his devoted wife, Barbara A. Verner Petrarca; his two beloved sons, Michael D.J. Petrarca of Canonsburg and Christopher (Tina) James Petrarca of Bentleyville; his brother, Rocco (Violet) of Canonsbur; and his grand-dogs, Lola, Mya, Milo, Zoey and Tazz and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his parents, are his twin daughters, Diva Marie and Catherine Ann who died April 26, 197; and two sisters, Nella DiMario and Adela Petrarca.

Friends and family are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday November 14, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra LFD owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120, where Catholic Blessing Services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday November 15.
