Joseph F. Laurendi
Joseph F. “One Shot Joe” Laurendi, 92, formerly of Ocala, Fla., passed peacefully Saturday, November 12, 2022, surrounded by loving family.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Bernadette; children, Michael (Alisa) Laurendi, Elizabeth “Lisa” (the late Jeff) Noto, Grace (Bruce) Lani, and Catherine (Keith) Pope; sister, Matilda Cherney; grandchildren, Kelly, Joseph, Jennifer, Patrick, Allison, Shane, Ryan, Rene, Chad, Harrison, Hudson, Corbin; along with six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Grazia Crea and Domnick Laurendi; brothers, Frank, Natale and Anthony Laurendi.
As a 23-year Air Force veteran, he earned his nickname, “One Shot Joe” as a military photographer. As master sergeant, Joe worked directly with the CORONA program at Westover Air Force Base, Mass. He received numerous military awards and commendations to include the Korean Service Medal, UN Service Medal and Vietnam Service Medal.
Family was everything to Joe. He will always be fondly remembered by his kindness and generosity.
A service, with full military honors, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, November 17, at The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville, PA 15017.
