Edward Stanley Oshetsky Jr.
Edward Stanley Oshetsky Jr., 76, of Brownsville (Centerville Borough), passed away Friday, November 11, 2022, in Allegheny General Hospital, surrounded by his family.
Edward was born September 28, 1946, in Monongahela, to the late Edward Oshetsky Sr. and Kathryn Jester Oshetsky.
He was a 1964 graduate of Bentworth High School and was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish.
He was employed for over 50 years in the meat/prepared foods department at Giant Eagle.
He loved flea markets and antiques, but his true passion was for his family.
Edward was a loving husband to his wife of 52 years, Carol Evans Oshetsky, originally of Imperial. He was a doting parent and grandparent, and was happiest when he was with his family.
In addition to his wife, he Edward is survived by five children, Edward Oshetsky III (Jill) of Murrysville, Carolyn Wyatt (James) of Wichita, Kans., Jill Stoy (Rennie) of Washington, Samantha Johnson (Derek) of Everett, and Lynne Wilson of Thornton, Colo.; 14 grandchildren, Holli (Wyatt) Rogers, Matthew Wyatt, Abigail Johnson, Violet Johnson, Sylvia Stoy, Evan Wyatt, Sadie Oshetsky, Coryn Stoy, Sophie Oshetsky, Garrett Stoy, Leah Wyatt, Mallory Stoy, Zachary Wilson and Kyle Wilson. Also surviving are five siblings, Kathy, Debra, Stephen, Kenneth and Daniel; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, November 17, in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Ltd., 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, where a prayer service will be held at 9:15 a.m. Friday, November 18, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 a.m. in St. Katharine Drexel Church, Richeyville, with the Rev. Edward Yuhas officiating. Interment will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Monongahela.
