Wayne A. Cimino, 74, of Houston, died Thursday, November 17, 2022, in his home, with his family at his side.

He was born October 13, 1948, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Wayne L. and Louise Severyn Cimino.

A 1966 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School, Wayne went on to graduate from California University with a Bachelors of Secondary Education and studied Industrial and Labor Relations at Washington and Jefferson College.

Mr. Cimino had worked as the human resources and safety officer for Ross Mould in Washington for 15 years and the human resources department of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel in Beach Bottom, W.Va.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Houston.

Wayne was a 53-year member of the Chartiers Township Volunteer Fire Department, where he was vice president, trustee and former assistant chief. He was a charter member and past president of PA Chapter #13, Red Knights Motorcycle Club and past president and assistant chaplain of the Washington County Fireman’s Association.

He enjoyed family and riding his motorcycle.

Surviving are his wife, Janet Preaux-Cimino; two sons, Wayne M. Cimino of Houston and Anthony L. Cimino of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren, Anthony L. Novak, Hannah Maye Cimino, Harper Raye Cimino and Wayne James Cimino; six sisters, Louise Cimino (Frank Furano) of Houston, Cecil V. Corson (Richard) and Chris Obras (William), both of Westfield, Ind., Lou Ann Kaufman (Dwayne) of Washington, and Gwyn Green (Bill) and Terry Green (James), both of Canonsburg; two stepsons, George Preaux (Maria) of Canonsburg and Michael Preaux of Finleyville; two stepgrandsons, Tyler and Zachary Preaux; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6:30 to 9 p.m. Monday, November 21, in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, with Pastor Rob Fetty officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery.

The Firefighters Memorial Service and Red Knights services will begin at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
