Darlene Y. Brown
Darlene Y. Brown, 63, of Warren, Ohio, formerly of Washington, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2022, in Warren Nursing and Rehab.
She was born November 17, 1958, in Washington, a daughter of the late Bruce Robinson and Ella L. Porter Williams.
Darlene attended McKeesport Area Senior High School.
She worked as a manager at the Student Union of Washington and Jefferson College.
In her free time, Darlene enjoyed fishing, traveling, dancing, watching the Steelers, and spending time with her dog, Festes. She was known as the hierarchy of her entire family. She was a devoted Christian and dedicated her life spending time with her beloved children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a loved aunt to several nieces and nephews.
In July 2001, in Washington, she married James “Jimmy” P. Brown, who preceded her in death April 3, 2012. She enjoyed her later part of life with her companion, Robert Blancher.
Surviving are two sons, Harry (Crystal) Rivera Jr. and James T. Rivera Sr., both of Washington; a daughter, Louise Asbury of Warren; three stepdaughters, Jessica Brown of Washington, Ashley Brown of North Carolina and Brittany Buckingham of Washington; four brothers, Thomas Porter of Washington, Richard Porter of Washington, Curtiss Porter of Pittsburgh and Sylvester Allen Porter of Pennsylvania; two sisters, Annah Porter of Warren and Harriet Herrin of Daisytown; a half-brother, Bruce Robinson of Steubenville, Ohio; a half-sister, Darlene Robinson, also of Steubenville; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Michael Porter; a sister, Curtsina Porter; and a grandson, Caleb.
Friends and family will be received from noon to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, November 27, in the Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at noon on Monday, November 28. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
