Carolyn Marie Wheeler
Carolyn Marie Wheeler, 60, of Washington, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 4, 2022, surrounded by her family and love. She was born October 30, 1961, in Washington, a daughter of the late Clyde T. Wheeler Sr. and Sylvia L. Burke Wheeler.
Miss Wheeler graduated from Washington High School in 1980. She was employed as a department head at Gabriel Brothers for several years before accepting her true calling, to care for the elderly at the Washington County Health Center, and then Premier Washington Health Center.
Miss Wheeler was an avid sports fan. She also loved her Andy Griffith, Perry Mason and Gunsmoke shows.
Miss Wheeler felt highly blessed to see all her children obtain an education.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 34 years, Howard L. Matten; children, William (Brandy) Wheeler, Erica Wheeler, Kevin (Jamie) Wise and Michael (Jessica) Wise; grandchildren, Bakari Ali, Bently Wise and Miya Wheeler; brothers, Clyde (Adele) Wheeler, William Wheeler and Jonathan Wheeler.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 11, in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Avenue, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, owner / supervisor, Holly Renay Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director, Park N. Crosier, director. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 12, in the funeral home, with the Rev. Joseph Wheeler officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
