Ricky A. Landock

Ricky A. Landock, 63, of Washington, formerly of Newport News, Va., died Monday, October 10, 2022, in the Donnell House, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born June 11, 1959, in Washington, a son of the late Thomas and Rose Mosier Landock.

Growing up in Washington, he played several sports, baseball being his favorite.

Ricky was a 1977 graduate of Washington High School. He went on to earn an associate’s degree in Computer Aided Drafting.

He worked as a drafter for Newport News Ship Building for 33 years until his retirement in 2020.

In his free time Ricky enjoyed horse and dog racing. He was also an avid fan of Pittsburgh sports.

He is survived by two brothers, Thomas Landock, Jr., of Winston-Salem, N.C., and John Landock of Washington; three sisters, Rebecca (Samuel) Speciale, of Fort Wayne, Ind., Kathy Landock of Washington and Linda (Robert) Stough of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and relatives will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of service, on Friday, October 14, 2022, in the Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org.
