Elmer Edward Gray
Elmer Edward Gray, 76, of Washington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 13, 2022, in the Grove at Washington, following a lengthy illness.
He was born September 6, 1946, in Washington, the son of the late Samuel Elmer and Mabel Hillberry Gray.
Mr. Gray was employed as a presser at Resnick’s Laundry Service and also operated a waste management truck alongside his wife, Edith and his mother, Mabel.
He loved socializing, making people laugh and working on cars. Mr. Gray will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.
On August 20, 1965, he married Edith Mae Riggs, who died March 15, 1997.
Surviving is a son, Edward Gray of Washington; a daughter, Brenda Gray of Washington; two brothers, Clarence Gray of Washington and Paul Gray of Washington; a sister, Kathy Garrett of Washington; a grandson, Edward Gray Jr. and two granddaughters, Jessica Hatfield and Nicole Hall.; three great-grandchildren also survive.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Gray was preceded in death by two brothers, Roger and Ricky Gray; five sisters, Sarah Ingram, Freda Toland, Donna Wasnik, Erma Yater and Linda Boyd; and a brother-in-law, Rick Garrett; and two sons, Keith and Kenny Gray.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., the hour of a funeral service, on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Avenue, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Owner / Supervisor, Holly Renay Warco, Director, S. Timothy Warco II, Director, Park N. Crosier, Director.
The Reverend Vera Avery will officiate. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. Those wishing to make memorial contributions may do so to Kathy M. Gray Garrett, in care of the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc.
