Bill Toporcer
Bill Toporcer, 87, of Washington, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2022, in his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born December 14, 1934, in Vestaburg, a son of Steve and Mildred Toporcer.
Mr. Toporcer served in the U.S. Army, with Company C, 27th Engineer Battalion C, until his honorable discharge in 1959.
Bill worked at Brockway Glass #7 for 31 years before the plant closed. He then went on to work for International Paper and Smuckers before he retired in 2013.
He was an avid golfer and bowler. He belonged to several leagues before giving up the sport because of health issues. He and his wife spent many weekends at Chippewa Golf Course.
Surviving are his wife, Madeline, with whom he recently celebrated 60 years of marriage; a son, Jeffrey of Washington; a daughter, Kelly Ann Shelton (Bill) of Moyock, N.C.; two grandchildren, Megan Bollero (Kiel), and Mitchell Shelton, both of Charlotte, N.C.; a brother, Frank Toporcer (Jean) of Brownsville; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are one sister, Ann Noska; and four brothers, Steve, Joseph, John and Mike Toporcer.
Friends will be received from 12 to 3 p.m., the hour of service, Saturday, October 22, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
Entombment will be private in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
The family would like to especially thank the Amedysis Hospice caregivers for all their love and support during this time.
