Clarence Rex Nelson
Clarence Rex “Rex” Nelson, 87, of Washington, died on October 26, 2022, in Washington Hospital.
He was born on March 19, 1935, a son of the late Clarence and Flossie Archer Nelson.
On August 24, 1967, Rex married the love of his life, Elaine Kayser Nelson, who survives.
Throughout his life, he enjoyed volunteering for the Salvation Army with his wife and was an avid golfer. Rex was the ultimate Washington High School Prexies sports fan, utilizing his season pass any chance he could. He also loved his Steelers.
Also surviving is a son, Steven (Cat) Temme; a daughter, Emily Nelson; and a granddaughter, Tiffiney Childress.
Preceding Rex in death are two brothers, Donald Nelson and Jerry Nelson; and four sisters, Flo Stone, Mickey Rhodes, Fairy Barrette, and Helen Lewis.
Friends and family will gather from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Monday, October 31, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, the place of service, Tuesday, November 1, at 11 a.m.
Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, in McMurray, PA.
