Nancy Elizabeth Mayne Wright
Nancy Elizabeth Mayne Wright, 88, of Washington, died Tuesday, October 25, 2022, in Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care, Washington.
She was born September 25, 1934, in Wheeling, W.Va., a daughter of the late Charles H. and D. Louise Clark Mayne Cheek.
A 1952 graduate of Trinity High School, and subsequent graduate of Penn Commercial in Washington, Nancy was formerly employed as a lab secretary for the Washington Hospital, assistant personnel at Trinity Area School District, and secretary at Hood Insurance.
Nancy was a life-long member of Third United Presbyterian Church until its closure. She most recently attended Faith United Presbyterian Church.
She was an active member of a travel club, TOPS, and 30 and Out Fitness. Nancy loved sewing, quilting, camping, and going on church retreats. She was a proud volunteer at the Washington Hospital for over 40 years.
On July 24, 1953, Nancy married James R. “Bob” Wright, who died May 10, 1988.
She is survived by her two daughters, Roberta J. (Dean) Stewart, and Dr. Sara L. (David) Clutter; a sister, Dolores J. Zwerneman; grandchildren, Lisa (the late Douglas) Jordan, Brian (Jeana) Stewart, Kelly (Nathan) Marek, Christopher (Tammi) Clutter, and Julie Mankey; great- grandchildren, Bryce and Quinn Jordan, Garret Hall, Emilia Marek, Ashlynn, Keegan, Kinsley, and Ruger Mankey.
Nancy was preceded in death by a sister, Mary L. Mayne; brother, Charles Mayne; and stepdad, Thomas “Lefty” L. Cheek.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd. 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 2.
Interment to follow in Washington Cemetery.
