Raymond S. Miller
Raymond S. Miller, 92, of Washington, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 1, 2022, surrounded by his family.
He was born May 2, 1930, in Washington, a son of the late Donley H. and Margaret Dulany Miller Rumble.
Ray attended Washington High School and went on to be a crane operator for 30 years at Jessop Steel, from where he retired.
He was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church and was a proud member of Claysville Lodge 447 Free & Accepted Masons and was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason.
He enjoyed hunting, spending time with his family, and traveling with his wife in their motor home all over the U.S.
On April 6, 1952, he married Margaret “Peggy” Chadwick, who died November 13, 2015.
Surviving are a son, James Miller of Washington; five grandchildren, Matthew (Jamie) Miller, Brandi (Justin) White, Michael (Alicia) Miller, Paul (Sarah) Jackson and Emily Miller; seven great-grandchildren, Ethan, Hayden, Teagan, Waylon, Wyatt, Lilliana and Finnegan.
Deceased are a son, Dennis Miller; and two brothers, Robert and Lloyd Miller.
He was so giving to his family and will be missed by all.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, in the Hummell and Jones Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 8, with the Reverend Laura Saffell officiating. All other services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Liberty United Methodist Church, 1330 Banetown Road, Washington, PA 15301.
