Troy Dean Harshey
Troy Dean Harshey, of Washington, was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis seven years ago. After a courageous battle with complications from a double lung transplant, he passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022, at the age of 59, with his family by his side.
Troy was born to Frank and Pearl Harshey on April 11, 1963.
After graduating from Burgettstown High School, he married his school sweetheart Amy, on May 6, 1986, and together they had three children, Troy James Dean, Ashlie (Elmo Cecchetti), and Johnathon Thomas.
Troy loved hunting whitetail deer from his many different tree stands, and fishing for fun and in carp tournaments, especially with family.
He was a skilled operator and heavy equipment mechanic for more than 30 years, and also enjoyed working on many home improvement projects for his friends and family in his spare time.
Troy is predeceased by his parents, Frank Harshey and Pearl Booth Harshey; son Johnathon; and his brothers, Frank and Shawn.
He is survived by his wife, his children, Ashlie (Elmo) Cecchetti; Troy; three grandchildren, Elexa, Ellie, and Elmo IV; brothers, Gary and Donald “Spank”; and sisters, Lynn and Corrina.
Family and friends will gather 12 to 2 and 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, September 9, with the service following at 6 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
