Nancy Jane “Nunnie” Kozak, 82, of North Strabane Township, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 11, 2022, in her home, with her family by her side. She was born October 9, 1939, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Robert and Eleanor Dayton Cannon.

Nancy lived her life in Canonsburg, attended East Washington High School and was Presbyterian by faith.

She had been employed as a nurse’s aide for many years at Western Center and prior to her retirement Mayview State Hospital.

She was a devoted homemaker and caregiver to her son, Jeffrey. Everyone was family to Nunnie; her kitchen was home, where she loved nothing more than spending time with her crazy family. She enjoyed traveling with her sister, going to Virginia Beach and Florida, baking with her great-grandsons, coloring books, shopping and looking at everything. Nunnie enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Penguins and Steelers and loved all her animals, especially her rottweiler, Bella Rose.

On July 10, 1964, she married Bernard James Kozak, who passed away November 29, 2008, after 43 years of marriage.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her beloved children, daughter, Debbie Chappo (Bernard), and sons, David A. Kozak (Dolly), Donald Kozak (Lilly), and Jeffrey B. Kozak, all of Canonsburg; sister, Betty Palleria of Canonsburg; brothers, Richard “Butch” Cannon (Connie) of Virginia Beach, Va., Wayne Cannon (Linda) and Marvin Cannon (Cathleen), both of Canonsburg; her cherished grandchildren, Bernie (Nicole) Skinner, Jeffrey Paul (Mallory) Skinner, David James (Ashley) Kozak, Joshua (Cassandra) Kozak ,Nicole Kozak, Michael (Rachel) Bruce, Charlotte Duane (Billy), Erica Taylor (Chase), Beth Ann (Gregory) Weinrub, Kingly and Queenly Fung; and her great-grandchildren, Lawson and Beckett Skinner, Blake and Jayce Skinner, Brooklyn Kozak, and Macy and Zane Bruce; along with several beloved nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, is her son, James “Jimbo” Kozak; brothers, Bobby Cannon and William Cannon; two sisters, Judy Graff and Edith Fischer; and great-granddaughter, Isabelle Skinner.

Friends and family are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra LFD, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where services will be held at noon Thursday, September 15. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
