Elizabeth Dever
Elizabeth “Mausi” Dever, 83, of Denbo, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2022, in Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital.
She was born October 12, 1938, in Worms, Germany, a daughter of the late Heinrich (Heiner) and Elisabetha Rolzhauser.
She met her late husband, William Jennings Lynch, while he was an American soldier.
Widowed while visiting the United States at 21 years old, Mausi has overcome many obstacles in her life through strength and determination. She quickly acclimated to the United States, always with her children as her priority.
Mausi later met and married John Walter Dever who died in 1995.
Mrs. Dever was an accomplished bowler and highly skilled at crocheting. Known for her strength, she was equally compassionate, selfless in nature and a helping hand to all. Her passion was her children and grandchildren. Family was the most important thing to Mausi. Her children and grandchildren will continue this legacy.
Surviving are three children, Audrey Vesely (Ken) of Long Branch, Robert “Bob” Dever (Pam) of Denbo and Lynn Watkins (Dave) of Roscoe; five grandchildren, Heath, Kelsey, Josh, Lauren and Hunter; one great-grandson, JJ; several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two sons, Albert Lynch and John Dever; a daughter Sharon Lynch Shaw; three grandsons, Christopher Wirick, Jake Lynch and Brandon Shaw.
Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m., the time of service, Saturday, September 17, 2022, in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home Ltd., 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, with Pastor Josh Green officiating. Interment will be privately held in Westland Cemetery.
