Ellen Clutter Dunn
Ellen Clutter Dunn, of Washington, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at the age of 81. She was born Margaret Lu Ellen Clutter August 10, 1941, at Enon in Richhill Township, Greene County, a daughter of the late Laney Margaret Leota Sprowls Clutter and Herman Samuel Clutter Sr.
Ellen attended the Enon Baptist Church near her home until her parents bought a farm near Graysville, where she was baptized and was a member of the Unity Presbyterian Church of Graysville.
She loved sewing (a skill she learned in the local 4-H club), hunting (white-tailed deer, turkeys and grouse), and flower gardening (orchids in her home and day lilies outdoors).
In school, she received the Frank R. Ross Award in eighth grade, and in her senior year was a member of the Commercial Club, a member of Student Council, and was chosen Outstanding Senior of the Month by her classmates and faculty. Ellen graduated in the West Greene High School Class of 1959 and in 1960 she graduated from Penn Commercial College in Washington.
On May 13, 1960, Ellen married Howard Eugene Dunn Sr., who survives. Also surviving are their four children, Howard Dunn Jr. (Susan), Susan Davidson (Russell), Linda Teed (David) and John Dunn (Nicole).
Her greatest joys were her grandchildren, Jolyne Sicurella (Michael), Troy Davidson, Lydia Bedillion (Adam), and Shannon Faust (Johannes); and the most recent joys were her great-grandchildren, Anthony Sicurella, Athena Bedillion, Nora Bedillion, Lucas Bedillion and Casper Faust.
Surviving are three sisters, Darlene Caldwell (Robert), Patricia Barnickel (Gregory) and Janet Bauduin (James); one brother, Herman Clutter Jr.; and one sister-in-law, Louise Clutter; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Deceased are one brother, Ronnie Gene Clutter, and one brother who died at birth.
The family held a private visitation and burial, where Ellen was laid to rest with her family.
