Albert Lee Shuman Sr.

Albert Lee “Butch” Shuman Sr., 77, of Washington, passed away, peacefully, Monday, September 26, 2022, in Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care in Washington.

He was born August 9, 1945, in Washington, a son of the late Mary Shuman Trefnoff.

Butch was a graduate of Washington High School and worked as a truck driver for the former Christman Air Freight and Overnite Trucking.

Mr. Shuman was a former Teamster and had been a member of the Arden Club.

Butch spent his life caring for his family. He loved cooking for family and friends and enjoyed Pittsburgh sports especially the Steelers and Pirates.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Martha Hay Shuman; three sons, Albert “Butchie” Shuman Jr. (Lori) of Washington, Brian Shuman (Jennifer) of Hickory and Shawn Shuman (Julie) of Southpointe; seven grandchildren, Christina Molinaro (J.P.) and Nicholas, Rebecca, Kaden, Kaleigh, Maura and Easton Shuman; four great-grandchildren, Charlie and Jameson Molinaro, Bailey Shuman and Jaiden Ranegar; a niece; and several cousins.

In addition to his mother, a brother, Ronald Shuman, is deceased.

At the request of the deceased, all services will be private.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Presbyterian Senior Care, 835 S. Main Street, Washington, PA 15301.
