Derrick J. Puskarich, Sr.
Derrick J. Puskarich, Sr., 68, of Washington, died Sunday, April 2, 2023, in Washington Hospital.
He was born August 8, 1954, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Michael and Helen Bednar Puskarich.
Derrick graduated from Trinity High School in 1972.
He retired from Caterpillar, where he had worked as a machinist and supervisor.
Mr. Puskarich was a member of Croation Fraternal Union and Shopmen’s Local Union #527.
He was a hardworking man with a passion for farming, hunting, cars and tractors. He also enjoyed going to Bob Evans every day, where he and his friends sat and solved the problems of the world.
On April 16, 1992, he married his soulmate and love of his life, Diane Dyson, who survives.
Also surviving are three children, Dara (David Gatten) Puskarich, Drew Puskarich and Derrick Puskarich, Jr., all of Washington; two brothers, Nick (Laura) Puskarich of Houston, and George (Sherri) Puskarich of Belle Vernon; two grandchildren, Willow and Amelia; a nephew, Shawn; and three nieces, Denise, Alexandra and Savannah.
Deceased is a sister, Violet McAdams.
Friends and family are welcome from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 7, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
There will be no funeral service. A celebration of life will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 15, at the stone pavilion of Washington Park.
