James K. McCoy
James K. McCoy, 73, of Washington, died Sunday, April 9, 2023, in Transitions Health Care, Washington.
He was born August 24, 1949, in Washington, a son of the late John A. and Stella Kendall McCoy.
A graduate of Trinity High School, he retired from Superior Valve, where he was a machine operator.
Mr. McCoy served in the Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
He loved trains, and was an avid collector of Matchbox and Hot Wheels.
James is survived by a daughter, Carrie Ann Carpenter (Scott); a brother, John McCoy (the late Cynthia); grandchildren, Leigh Ann Spring (Jason), Angela Carpenter and Zacharia Carpenter; along with three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, James Kenneth McCoy, II; and sister, Dayle Kelley.
Family and friends will gather from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Friday, April 14, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, and proceed to the Washington Cemetery for a 12:45 p.m. graveside service, with Pastor Fred McCloskey officiating.
