Raymond R. “Pete” Roupe, 92, of Washington, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2023, in Premier of Washington Health Center.

He was born February 21, 1931, in Washington, a son of the late Raymond and Juanita Cole Roupe.

Pete enjoyed collecting, especially clocks, and going to flea markets.

Universal Cyclops employed him as a steel worker and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania employed him as a maintenance worker at highway rest stops.

His wife, Patty Sampson Roupe, passed away April 24, 2001.

Surviving are seven children, Raymond “Petey” (Lynn) Roupe, Ronnie (Becky) Roupe, Sherry (Gary) Hatfield, Cindy (Carl) Anderson, Terri McKinney, Lori (Jeff) McKinney, and John Sampson; a sister, Marylu Williams of Bellflower, Calif.; 22 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn Poland and Juanita Moore; one brother, Paul Roupe; a granddaughter, Kammie Roupe; and a great- granddaughter, Rylie Hazen.

The family would like to thank Premier of Washington Health Care Center staff and Bridges Hospice staff for the care they provided during Pete’s declining health.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 13, in Dale D. DeAngelo Funeral Home, 1290 Jefferson Avenue, Washington, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 14, with the Rev. Sue Petritis officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
