Gordon Leroy Carlson
Gordon Leroy Carlson, 93, of Charleroi, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2023, peacefully at home with his loving family by his side. Born on December 18, 1929, Gordon a son of the late John and Helen Anderson Carlson.
After graduating High School, Gordon served honorably in the U.S. Navy. Gordon then worked for Chapman Corporation as a sheet metal worker, was a Protestant by faith, enjoyed fishing, woodworking, traveling to Branson, Missouri and loved watching his Pittsburgh Steelers.
Surviving to cherish Gordon’s memory; his wife, Dolores Carlson; his daughters, Sheila (Chuck) Fear, Karen (Shawn) Pullion, and Nancy (Jim) Lundy; Gordon’s grandchildren, Amanda Fear, Kelsey (Tim Lucas) Pullion, Taylor (Andy) Wolfe, and Jimmy (Calista) Lundy; great-grandchildren, Audrey Lucas, Charlotte Wolfe, and Andrew Wolfe; also his numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Gordon is also preceded in death by his sisters, Lorraine Wendel and Frances Anderson; and his brothers, Kenneth Carlson and John Carlson.
Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Hogan-Melenyzer Funeral Home and Cremations Inc., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, PA 15022. Funeral service will be held inside the funeral home at 10 a.m., doors open at 9 a.m., Monday with interment following the service at Mon Valley Memorial Park.
