John M. “Pat” Enlow, of Saxonburg, dedicated father, grandfather, and friend of many, passed away, unexpectedly, Thursday, April 13, 2023, in Greensburg, at the age of 88. He was born July 30, 1934, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late John and Ruth Malloy Enlow.

Pat spent his childhood in Canonsburg and graduated from Canonsburg High School in 1953.

After graduation, he joined the U.S. Army and served as a radio technician and a Reserve Officers’ Training Corps instructor. He was incredibly proud of his service, often regaling stories from his service in Texas and of those he met in the military.

After four years in the Army, Pat continued his education at the University of Pittsburgh. He began his career as an accountant with the Radio Corporation of America (RCA) in Pittsburgh. While in this position, Pat was introduced to his late wife and devoted partner of 58 years, Lorraine Green Enlow. They married in a snowstorm February 4, 1961 and created a family of three with the addition of their daughter, Melissa, in 1967.

Pat and Lorraine continued their careers together in New Jersey and Florida, with Pat finally retiring as purchasing director for the City of Venice, Fla.

Pat then returned to Greensburg, where he was a frequent visitor and member of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars and SNPJ clubs.

He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, rarely missing a Steelers or Penguins game.

He enjoyed travelling throughout the continental U.S. and Europe. Most recently, he enjoyed a 12-day Western Caribbean cruise on his own, at the age of 88, and continued to make travel plans upon his return.

Pat was a talented gardener and cared for herbs and vegetables well into his 80’s. He was dedicated gambler.

Although incredibly saddened by the loss of Pat, his family is grateful that he was able to spend his final day doing what he loved most – playing table games at the casino and, more than likely, enjoying his favorite meal of a hamburger and a Pepsi.

In addition to his parents and wife, Pat was predeceased by two brothers, William Enlow and Harold Enlow.

He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Melissa (Joe) Germovsek of Saxonburg; and two grandchildren, Patrick (Taylor Reese) Germovsek and Keeley (Kyle Merritt) Germovsek, who cherish the years they were able to spend with their grandfather.

There will be no public visitation. Private interment will be the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Should family and friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the SNPJ Scholarship Fund (in memory of John Enlow), 247 W. Allegheny Road, Imperial, PA 15126.
