Betty Georgiana Warth Kenzleiter, 100, of Lawrence, formerly of Peters Township, died Wednesday, April 19, 2023.

She was born March 20, 1923, in Bellaire, Ohio, a daughter of Norman Charles Warth and Inez Lenore Ruckman Warth, and was a lifelong resident of Washington County. She grew up on the farm, and helped a lot with the family meals as she hated the farm chores. This gave her a lifelong love of cooking.

She graduated from Trinity High School in 1941, and not long after, took a job working at Murphy’s 5 and 10 in Washington, where she met her future husband, William Louis Kenzleiter. As World War II started to impact their lives, they decided to marry on October 15, 1943, at Saint Hilary Church, Washington.

When Bill returned home from the war, their married lives began in full. They had three daughters and she made a wonderful life for them and her husband.

Once her children were all in school, she volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader for a Troop in Peters Township. After many years as a leader, she then moved into a consultant position to support other girl scout leaders. She also worked at Doris’s Bridal Shop in Canonsburg, owned by her sister-in-law, Doris Saymansky, for the entire lifetime of the store.

She is survived by daughters, Georgiana KWK Loy, of Lawrence and Joanne Kenzleiter (Bruce Blandino) of Peters Township; grandsons, Gary J. Thomas, Jr. of Nevada City, California, Adam K. Blandino and his wife, Rachel of Tampa, Florida, Andrew W. Blandino of Pittsburgh and Jacob A. Blandino of Pittsburgh; son-in-law, Joseph Zilla of Peters Township; sisters, Marilyn Beckenger of Washington and Carol Sue Blayney of Canonsburg; brother, Donald Warth (Judy) of Cumming, Georgia; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Louis Kenzleiter in 2008; daughter, Lori Lyn Kenzleiter Zilla in 2017; her parents, Inez Lenore Ruckman Warth and Norman Charles Warth; and her siblings, Orabelle Mellars, Norman and Bob Warth

She was one of the kindest most generous people you will ever meet and had a positive impact on everyone she met. As was so clearly stated in her 100th birthday tribute, she provided guidance, support and unconditional love to her daughters as well as her four grandsons. The effect she had on all of our lives is as momentous as turning 100 years old.

A special thanks to all the wonderful people that helped take care of her in her last months, most especially Dorothy, Jamie, Stacy and Michelle.

Family and friends are welcome at the Beinhauer Funeral Home, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, 724-941-3211, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday. Burial will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Peters Township.
